Stop Wasting Your Time On The Following

Many of us will have felt like we’ve wasted time at points in out life, but be completely unaware of how this is happening. There are so many tasks and pastimes introduced into daily life, and r can be  difficult to know what to focus on.

Regardless of whether you want to spend more time with those who are important or ensure you’re meeting your professional goals, you must stop wasting time on the following.

Drama That Doesn’t Involve You

Although there can be some trying times in life, there are also times when we’re introduced to drama regardless of it not involving us. Everyone has their own way of dealing with problems, but learning to walk away from needless drama ensures you remain positive and don’t feel mentally exhausted before meeting your goals.

This isn’t to say you can’t be supportive to friends and peers, but ensuring you’re not submerged in drama that doesn’t involve you allows for a clearer mindset and goal objective.

Deceiving Yourself

Many people can have traits that hold them back, but the only way to move forward proactively is to be honest with yourself.

Are there areas you could improve regarding work? Maybe you know deep down that more efforts are needed to connect with those closest to you? Not deceiving yourself and admitting you need to make improvements is another essential aspect of making the most of your time.

Distractions That Affect Work and Special Moments

Nowadays, it is easy to be distracted when we hear a notification on our phone. Despite the advancements made in technology, it is important not to let it affect your daily life, be it work or spending time with those closest to you.

If checking your phone is a part of your job, then you must schedule downtime where WhatsApp messages and Facebook alerts won’t be a concern. Similarly, if you’re in work and sidetracked by alerts and status updates, then you may find you’re taking longer to reach your goals, which can be enough to set off several other emotional and psychological triggers.

Questioning Your Abilities

When struggling with tasks, some of us can feel like we’re failing. Although understandable it’s important to focus on the goals and use struggles as ways of solving problems.

Focusing on struggles and failures often means you will be longing for better days, but not investing the work needed to get there. Accepting that everyday struggles are part of your growth help ensure there is no time wasted when moving forward, only lessons to learn.

Comparing Yourself to Others

Just as with questioning your abilities, there can be a lot of time wasted on focusing on the skills and social status of others. Everyone has a journey to make in life, and there will be instances when some struggle more than others.

Comparing yourself to others can make you feel like you’re failing, even if this isn’t the case. As such, you should shift your focus to your life goals and meet your own goals instead of trying to achieve the same status as others.

In oder to stop wasting time, there can be some changes need to habitual behaviour. However, using the above steps ensures that you’re in the right path regarding the productive use of your time.

Make the Most Of Your Time

It may seem ironic, but one of the biggest wastes of our time can be trying to keep our schedules in check. With a series of different applications and methods available regarding time management, many of us soon find that we spend a lot of time scheduling out plans, but rarely have time to carry them out.

To ensure you make the most of your time, you must eliminate the hurdles that restrict you and focus on actions that are time efficient and effective, including the following.

Set Goals (And Review Them Daily)

Although small goals can be achieved easily, they may not be the best way of managing your time. As such, ensuring your goals are big allows you to be more efficient moving forward.

Of course, you still need to be realistic, but dreaming big ensures that obstacles can be overcome as time passes. There will be times when goals don’t go to plan or change in an instant, which is why they should be reviewed daily.

Reviewing your goals daily ensures you retain focus and you can concentrate on all aspects of your goals, be it professional, personal or a mixture of both.

What Are Your REAL Priorities?

What is considered a priority can be subjective, but a vast understanding of how to prioritise tasks can make all the difference, especially among those wanting to make the most of their time. Although there are many ways to achieve this, one of the most common is that detailed in Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”

Covey breaks down goals into a ‘Time Management Matrix’ that consists of the following elements.

  • Urgent and Important
  • Important But Not Urgent
  • Urgent But Not Important
  • Not Important Nor Urgent

In most instances, you would focus on ‘Urgent and Important’ tasks, but this could be detrimental when wanting to stop wasting time, as 90% of your time will be spent on one task. Shifting your focus to tasks that are ‘Important But Not Urgent’ ensures all tasks are receiving focus. However, to ensure that you always get the most value from your time, you must be organised.

Don’t Underestimate the Value of Time When Getting Organised

When shifting our focus regarding tasks, it is understandable why we undervalue time. For example, only having one hour a day for specific tasks may cause some to overlook or forget the project, but this could mean you’re wasting several hours a week.

Would a project benefit from several hours of focus? Definitely yes, but it’s essential you understand the value of time and the possibilities available to ensure you can reach your goals within a faster time frame.

An hour a day invested in a project is preferable to no time at all, and you will be amazed at the progress you can make when making the best use of your time.

In addition to making the most of the time you have available, there can be other steps taken to ensure you free up time in other areas.

Avoid Anything That Truly Wastes Your Time

If you’re trying to attain goals in your professional life, then you should be aware of tasks that are carried out daily that can eat into your productivity. Social network updates and text messaging are two of the biggest time killers in the modern world, and there is often little reward in the end.

This isn’t to say you should avoid social interaction and leisure time, but if you have goals that aim to improve your career, then eliminating these time-wasting tasks is integral

Making the most of your time may seem difficult at first, but taking some time to make changes to the way you use the time you have available can make all the difference.

How To Keep Loose High Heels On Your Feet And Make Them More Comfortable…who Knew It Was So Easy!

Confession time ladies! Hands up…Who has a pair of heels that they just love because they are so darn cute, but yet they slip off your feet all the time, leaving you stressed and frustrated, and walking like a day old deer? Well, here is a round up of some solutions worth a try, and we are so saving the best for last! The Holy Grail of shoe nightmares, the answer you have been searching for! Check the video here!

Gel pads

Available from the high street or many online retailer, the aim is to create less space in the shoe, making it harder to slip off, and pushing the foot back into a better position to grip the heel area.

Comments: This actually gave the shoe a better fit, and the gel was comfortable, but it didn’t last long and the shoe was slipping off again! Sometimes the gel slipped and I could see it over she shoe which was rather off putting too!

Heel grips

Again, available in lots of places, these pieces of sticky tape are designed to be stuck inside the heel of the shoe, and create friction and grip between the heel and the back of the shoe. It also takes a bit of space out of the shoe, creating a better fit, or so they say!

Comments: This was not a great solution when wearing stockings and tights, it just slipped and at one point created a ladder in the stockings – not professional at all!

grips

Footie sock

A small lacy sock designed to give some grip to the sole of the foot, various colours available.

Comments: Pretty ineffective to be fair – occasionally we could see the sock over the line of the shoe, and that just annoys us greatly – Did nothing to stop the heel slipping.

Double sided tape

Another old wives tale, and considered a quick fix, using normal sellotape rolled up to create double sided effect.

Comments: Next to useless and then some! Really didn’t help in anyway. Shoes just fell off as normal, not recommended!

Hairspray

Again, a bit of an old wives tale, but spraying your feet with hairspray before you pop your shoes on offers more grip and helps stop the shoes slipping off.

Comments: Made no difference at all!

Talc

A great suggestion from your granny! Liberally apply talc to your feet, providing grip and adhesion to the feet.

Comments: A little more grip, but soon wore off! Worked better with bare feet that it did with stockings and tights, not helpful when you have to wear them!

What to say about Eliza May ShooStraps?

Customer Reviews

Here at Eliza May we’re confident that we offer one of the best products on the market, but its not for us that  resting on our laurels malarkey, oh no not us! So in the interests of patting ourselves on the back (we’re sort of joking) and of course seeing where we can improve, we thought we’d interview a couple of happy customers and get there thoughts on how our ShooStraps have worked for them.

  1. “What to say about Eliza May ShooStraps?

Having always struggled to find shoes that fit quite right due to having shallow feet, finding Eliza May really has been an absolute godsend. In the past I’ve always had to grin and bear it when buying dressy shoes, the alternative being flats everywhere. So you can imagine my relief when a friend recommended me Eliza May, admittedly I was sceptical at first, could a £9.99 strap really end years of problems with shoes?

My doubts have been well and truly silenced! Its amazing how one little strap can make all the difference, to give an example I recently bought a pair of expensive but beautiful heels from a certain well known French house. I had a friends wedding coming up and just had to wear these shoes, only problem being I was between sizes, I opted for the larger size resigning myself to an afternoon of looking great but fighting grimaces!

Instead after my friends recommendation, I bought myself a couple of detachable straps in red. Not only did they solve my loose shoe conundrum but you’d never know they weren’t part of the shoes I originally bought.

I’ll certainly be returning to Eliza May, the knowledge that I no longer have to worry if shoes are a little loose or uncomfortable on first fitting is priceless and leaves me to get on with the important stuff, mainly dancing!”

  1. I had thought I’d have to stop buying court shoes, I’ve always had fairly wide feet and always found shoes didn’t fit me in the heel.

That is until I came across Eliza May in Look Magazine. I’m usually a little sceptical about products that promise to solve problems, but I decided to take a chance on Eliza May and I’m so glad I did. They’ve made court shoes wearable again after years of struggling with heel slip. They’ve enabled me to recycle several pairs of shoes I’d given up on wearing, plus I no longer have to be quite as picky (within reason of course!) with buying new shoes.

I’ve bought a few pairs of ShooStraps since discovering them in a variety of colours and styles and have yet to find a pair that don’t look great with my shoes. My only complaint is that they could do with a couple more materials to choose from perhaps something in leather?
